Back ground History

Old Bamars came down from Mongo high. They are the mogoloid stock. Bamar means quick and strong. According to PONTAUNG Primate, Bamar lived in this land since 40 million years ago. We can say human being start from Bamar land. The first civilization was at TA GAUNG Dynasty. 100 miles up river of mighty Ayyawady, north of Mandalay. The PYU dynasty (1st to 5th centaury BC) reach a high level of social, economic, cultural development such as booze statues of four dancers in PYU dynasty. They are all old Bamars.

The greatest in Old Bamars history dated back (10 to 13 AD) centaury was unbelievable well organized the Bagan dynasty by the king ANAWRAHTA. We can say the golden period of old Bamar's land. Reunited the peoples, emphasis on economy development,and purified the belief of the region from HINAYANA To TERA VADA BUDDHISM. They all are old Bamars.

Our last monarchy KONE BAUNG dynasty was founded by king ALONG PAYA in 1752. At that time there are many complicated and unstable's in internal and external affairs. During these days there are many comflit each others. Finally the king SI BAW lost his monarchy in 1885. General AUNG SAN struggle and try to regain the independent of the country. Later, the prime minister U Nu sign for independent on the treaty of Nu-ATTLY. Old Bamars peoples regain their independent in 1948. U THANT, the third ex secretary general of United nation who was worked for the world peace and development from 1961 to 1971. U Thant also an old Bamars.

Old Bamars are samples, diligence, and easy to contented. Men keep the hair-knot and ware long Lone gyi. Woman ware bottom down front hta-main and hip-length Jacket. TAUNG PYONE and YADANAGU, at Mandalay Township, PO PA at Mt. Popa, Kyauk Pa Daung Township, and AMAY YIN at PALE Township areas are cerebrate the NAT spirit worship festival up to now. Those NAT spirit worship festivals are started by old Bamars peoples. Old Bamars men are practice tattoo on their body.
