7 January
Morning fly from Yangon to Myitkyina and proceed to Indawgyi Wetland Wildlife Sanctuary for seven nights stay. Birding stops en-route. Overnight Lonton.

8 January
Boat rides on Indawgyi Lake and Indaw Chaung to do birds watching on water birds and other bird species. Overnight Lonton.

9 January
Boat rides again on Indawgyi Lake and Indaw Chaung. to do birding on water birds and other bird species. Overnight Lonton.

10 January
In the morning drive to Naung Kwin Inn and water birds and other bird specie survey at there. Evening, back to Lonton. Overnight Lonton.

11 January
Water birds and other bird specie survey on Indaw Chaung. Overnight Lonton.

12 January
In the morning drive to Nanyinhka and birds watching at there. Late afternoon, drive back to Lonton. Overnight Lonton.

13 January
Birding again on Indawgyi Lake and Indaw Chaung. Overnight Lonton.

14 January
Drive back to Myitkyina. Birding stops en-route. Overnight Myitkyina.

15 January
Boat rides on Ayeyarwaddy River for water birds and other bird specie watching. Night stops on broad sand-bar near Sinbo.

16 January
Boat rides on Ayeyarwaddy River to do water birds and other bird specie watching. Night stops on broad sand-bar near Hnget Pyaw Taw Village.

17 January
Birding on Ayeyarwaddy River and back to Myitkyina. Overnight Myitkyina.

18 January

 NOTES ON SITES SURVEY

Indawgyi Wetland Wildlife Sanctuary
Indawgyi Wetland Wildlife Sanctuary is established in 1999. It is located in the Kachin State, North Myanmar with an area covering 775.25 sq km. This sanctuary is named after the Indawgyi Lake that is about 23.8 km long and 10 km wide. Indawgyi Lake is located between 24˚ 56' and 25˚ 24' north and 96˚ 0' and 96˚ 39' east at 175 masl, and its surrounding areas have grassland and woodland. It is largest inland lake in South East Asia and the third largest lake in the world. The eastern side of the lake is mountainous terrain that is rising to 1175 masl and the hill to the west and north are more extensive and rising to 1180 masl.

Indaw Chaung
It is situated at northeast end of Indawgyi Lake. It forms the outflow of the lake and flows north east to join with Mogaung River. Indaw Chaung is covered by marsh and scrub swamp and woodland.

Lonton
Lonton is large village and located on the south west bank of Indawgyi Lake. It is situated at North 25˚ 05' 32'' and East 96˚ 17' 16.3''.

Nanyinhka
Nanyinhka (Nante) is located at the south west of the Lonton and North 25˚ 01' 06.9'' and East 96˚ 13' 02.7''. This site is covered by primary and secondary forests.

Naung Kwin Inn
Naung Kwin (Byee) Innis situated north of the Indawgyi Lake and atNorth 25˚ 18' 48.3'' and East 96˚ 21' 31.5'' which is covered with elephant grass and scattered trees in the south, with forested land in the north.

Ayeyarwaddy River
Ayeyarwaddy (Irrawaddy) River is one of two major rivers and largest river in Myanmar. This section of the river is located in Myitkyina district at Kachin State, North Myanmar. The river is 700-800m wide along this stretch with extensive sand, silt, and gravel banks and some areas of the bank are covered by forests. There are some rocky outcrops along the western shores. Bird surveyed from Myitkyina to Sinbo and the total distance is 135 km which is situated between 25˚ 22' 08.1'' and 24˚ 41' 12.4'' north and 97˚ 24' 54.4'' and 97˚ 04' 44.7'' east.
