This site is located in the Shan Plateau in East Myanmar at an elevation of 1,300 meters about sea level. It is surrounded by mountains. 160 bird species have been recorded there. Highlights would be Ferruginous Pochard, Spot-billed Duck, Garganey, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, Black-winged Stilt, Black-tailed Crake, Sandpipers, Sooty-headed Bulbul and Jerdon's Bushchat. The unique traditional style of leg-rowers, fishing, floating market and floating agriculture are added attractions. In addition, one may observe aquatic plants and animals, and butterflies, do trekking, and visit historical Hpaung Daw Oo Pagoda and study traditional handicrafts of Intha people. Inlay may be visited all the year round, but the best time for bird watching and trekking activities is from November to May.
