The site is located in central Myanmar dry zone which has dry deciduours forests, tropical thorn forests and wetlands. Only 110 bird species have been recorded, with many yet to be discovered, it is believed. Highlights would be Myanmar endemic bird White-throated Babbler, Burmese Bushlark (Myanmar endemic bird), Pied Avocet, Green and Blue-tailed Bee-eaters, Oriental Darter and others. In addition one can make the observation of Irrawaddy Dolphin in the Ayeyarwaddy River. Mandalay is the last Kingdom of Myanmar. You can see all of the Myanmar traditional art and crafts.
