Myanmar is a country truly rich in its natural resources. One of the tourist attractions is the way down south to the shimering
Andaman Sea lapping Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng township in the southern-most tip of mainland Myanmar, Tanintharyi ( Tenasserim) Division.
Since Kawthaung(Victoris point) is located over 800 kilometres south of capital city Yangon, it si likely to call " the other end of the rainbow" .
Yangon Airways aircraft can take you to Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng from Yangon, last for over two hours.
Being a border town, it does a thriving trade in raw rubber, which is quite unlike most other towns and cities. Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng is a busy fishing port, also.
Most of all , Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng is a lively tourist town, but without the hustle and bustle found in most tourist destinations elsewhere in the world.
Another quaint aspect of Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng is the rarity of acctomobiles on the roads. The town people usually use small motorcycles.

At any rate, the dearth of cars on the road should be an exciting and refreshing change for visitors coming from big cities all over the world.
A panoramic view of Kawthaung/ Kawthoung/ KoSawng and its surroundings is a small fishing village just out of town.
Near by is the 3rd mile Pagoda located on top of a small hill. After a short climbing up the hill, you can see a fantastic view of the surrounding hills covered with Cashew Nut planatations. Looking out over Andaman Sea, you will see. Thayhtay Kyun island and Sallon Island. Futher out is the hulking outline of Zedatkyi Kyun, or St. Mathew's Island.
Another attraction on the mainland is King Bayinnaung's statue located atop another hill called U Do Thiya, form where you can over look the town and the whole surrounding of this southernmost town. Due directly east is the town of Ranong in Thailand territory.
It takes only 15 minutes for a boat ride from Kawthaung to Ranong.

Off Kawthaung's coast, there is Andaman Sea, the emerald-like islands dotting the sparkling Blue Sea. You can snorkel and scuba dive to the most beautiful corals ever seen in any part of the world.
A short 3- minute ride on a speed boat will bring you to Thayhtay Kyun where the Andaman Club Resort is located.
